Every Client Says the Same Three Things

After enough first calls, patterns emerge. Here's what I hear constantly, what it usually means, and the one I can't fix.

I've done enough first calls now that nothing on them surprises me. The same phrases come up on almost every inquiry, from completely different people, in completely different industries. That's not a criticism. The problems are common because the situation is common.

"I just need something simple."

Simple final products require more decisions, not fewer. A clean, minimal site means every element on the page has to earn its spot, which means more back-and-forth about what stays and what goes. What clients usually mean is they don't need many pages or custom features. That's fair, and it's exactly what our $500 and $1,000 tiers are built for.

"My last designer disappeared."

I hear this constantly. A freelancer goes quiet mid-project. An agency hands the work to someone junior and stops responding. I stay in contact throughout a build. Not because it's a selling point, but because dropping a client mid-project would bother me more than it would bother you.

"I don't want it to look like everyone else's."

Good. I build from scratch. No templates, no Squarespace themes with your logo swapped in. Every site looks different because every brief is different. This one I can actually promise.

The one I genuinely can't fix

'I just need something cheap.' We're already on the affordable end of custom work. Below $500, Squarespace and Wix are the honest answer and I'll say so. I'd rather point you toward the right tool than take a project I can't do well at that price.
